Configuring a Control Link's Properties

Control links have several configurable properties, as outlined below:

Properties common to all control link types

Command Links maintain no value, therefore, Command Links do not contain a Control Link Value or a Link Master.

*You configure Control Link Priority in the All Links dialog box, not in the link's properties dialog box.

Properties unique to each control link type
  • Level link: Level slider
  • Selector link: Selector options
  • Toggle Link: Toggle Value checkbox, Inverted state
  • Command Link: Issue Command button

To configure a control link's properties:

  1. Click the Processing tab to open the Processing Workspace.
  2. In the Processing toolbar, click Linking. The All Links dialog box displays, which lists all current control links (by type).
  3. In the All Links dialog box, click the appropriate tab. For example, if you're looking for a Level control link, click the Level tab.

note: If you want to configure a link's priority, you must do so in the All Links dialog box, not in the link's properties dialog box.

  1. Click the link whose properties you want to configure. The link's properties dialog box displays:
  2. Configure the link's properties.
  3. Click the X in the upper right corner to close the dialog box.

Alternate method:

  1. Click the link icon associated with one of the link participants. For example, if the control link in question is between a DR1 and a Level processing block, you could click either the link icon next to the DR1 Level control in the Control palette or the link icon next to the Level control in the Processing Map:
  2. One of two things happens:

  1. Configure the link's properties.
  2. Click the X in the upper right corner to close the dialog box.
