Viewing/Updating the HAL Display Name

There are several locations where you can customize the display name for a HAL device.

To view or update the display name for a HAL, do one of the following:

• If not connected to the HAL, click Connect on the application toolbar to open the Connect to Device dialog box. In the column labeled Display Name and IP Address, find the HAL you want and edit its name:
• When connected to the HAL, open its properties by double-clicking its title bar or by hovering and clicking the properties icon that appears in the title bar. Customize its name in the edit box located at the top of its properties dialog box:

note: When entering names and other text, such as labels and notes, you can use nearly any Latin character and many symbols. For more details, see Allowed Display Characters.
