Enabling and Disabling a Preset's Scratch Pad

Enabling a preset's Scratch Pad causes the system to track and save any changes made to the preset's parameters while the preset is active. When the preset is later activated or asserted, it returns the changed values (as well as original values for any parameters that have not changed).

If you later decide to disable the preset's Scratch Pad, the preset returns to its original values and its Scratch Pad no longer tracks changes to its parameters.

For more details about the Scratch Pad, see About Presets.

To enable a preset's Scratch Pad:

  1. In the Processing Workspace toolbar, click Presets to open the All Presets dialog box.

  2. If you have not yet created your preset, create your preset!
  3. In the All Presets dialog box, click the name of the preset whose Scratch Pad you want to enable. This action displays the preset's properties dialog box.
  4. In the upper area of the dialog box, click the Scratch Pad down arrow to display its options.
  5. Select the Enable checkbox.

note: You can expose control of the Scratch Pad by linking the Enable/Disable control to a remote device, such as a DR2 or DR3. This is a rather sophisticated control to expose, however, so tread carefully if you decide to do so!

To disable a preset's Scratch Pad:

  1. In the Processing Workspace toolbar, click Presets to open the All Presets dialog box.

  2. Click the name of the preset you want. This action displays the preset's properties dialog box.
  3. In the upper area of the dialog box, click the Scratch Pad down arrow to display its options.
  4. Deselect the Enable checkbox.

note: If you disable a Scratch Pad while the preset is active, the values in the live system (the working values) do not change. It is only when you later activate or assert the preset that the original preset values are used.
