Halogen processing blocks contain a useful feature that allow you to add new nodes on the fly. To illustrate the usefulness of this feature, let's take a look at the Mixer block.
With most audio products, you must specify the size of your mixer when you create it. But what if something in your design specification changes and you need to add one or more channels to the mixer? If the mixer size is fixed, you're stuck creating a new one from scratch. What a bother! In the HAL System, however, you simply add the channels you need. No bother at all!
note: You can add up to 80 input nodes and 48 output nodes, although maximizing both is not advisable as it would put a tremendous strain on HAL's DSP resources.
