Purpose

Provides the ability to view and modify the settings for user and device access to control pages. You can assign control pages to both users and devices (including the HAL web server), providing a flexible system for ensuring that each user has access to the appropriate set of control pages on each device in the HAL configuration.

User Interface Elements

Configure Page Access Dialog Box

The Configure Page Access dialog is divided into two major areas:

Assign Pages to Users

This area allows you to add, delete and configure users who need access to HAL System Control Pages. You can configure the set of pages that each user has access to.

UI Element Purpose
List of User Names and Codes

This list shows all control page users and the access code for each.

note: The HAL system always has at least one user: Unsecured. This user is the default user for the control page system and has no access code. Also, you cannot change or delete the unsecured user. HAL control page devices (including the web server) start with Unsecured logged in, which affects the set of pages that the device makes accessible. When another user logs in, the device changes the accessible pages according to the settings for the new user. When that user subsequently logs out, the device reverts to Unsecured, resetting the accessible pages to those of the unsecured user.

To add a new user click the button. This opens a window that allows you to enter a new user name and access code:

note: The user name and access code must both be unique.

To delete an existing user, hover your mouse over the list and notice the x icons that appear on the far right of each user row. Click on the x icon for user that you want to delete:

To modify a user's name or access code, click on the user name hyperlink, which opens a window similar to the New User dialog above, allowing you to make the modifications.
