Adding I/O Blocks to the Processing Workspace

Input and Output blocks are added to the Processing Map via drag and drop from the I/O Palette.

Add a single I/O block to the Processing Workspace
  1. Open the I/O Tab on the Processing Workspace palette.
  2. Expand devices and scroll to the particular input or output you want to add to the workspace.
  3. Once you have located the input or output you want to add to the workspace you have two options for adding the block to the workspace:
    • Click on the input or output and drag it to the Processing Workspace. (Holding the block at the edges of the workspace will auto-scroll to other areas). Once the hashed drop target is in position release the mouse button to add the input/output block to the workspace.
    • Double-click on the input or output to add the block below the currently selected workspace block(s). If nothing is selected the block will be positioned in the middle of the visible portion of the workspace.
Add multiple I/O blocks to the Processing Workspace
  1. Open the I/O Tab on the Processing Workspace palette.
  2. Expand devices and scroll to the first input or output you want to add to the workspace.
  3. Hold down the Ctrl or Shift key and click on additional blocks to add to the workspace.
  4. If you want to add whole groups of blocks to the workspace click (while holding Ctrl or Shift) on the Device or group of ports in the palette to add them to the block selection as well.
  5. Once all the blocks you want to add to the Processing Workspace are selected you have two options for adding those blocks onto the processing workspace:
    • Click on any one of the selected blocks and drag them to the Processing Workspace. Once the hashed drop target is in position release the mouse button to add all the selected input/output blocks to the workspace.
    • Double-click on any of the selected input/output blocks to add them below the currently selected workspace block(s). If nothing is selected the blocks will be positioned in the middle of the visible portion of the workspace.

note: Blocks will be added in a vertical column if all of the blocks are of the same type. If you have mixed inputs and outputs the inputs will dropped in a column on the left and the outputs will be on the right.
